While our boat was at Shelter Island Marina in BC, I was watching Night Agent (Netflix) and saw that the marina scenes were shot at this marina - the one where our boat was!
January 13: Underway on a rainy morning from Bremerton Marina to Shilshole Marina.
Aurelia’s home for a few days in Seattle.
On January 17, 2025 we started our 3 day trip to bring Aurelia to Shelter Island Marina and Boatyard in BC (http://www.shelterislandmarina.com). The weather cooperated most of the way. We ended up in 4 footers in the Strait of Georgia (even though it was forecasted for 1 foot or less)! The boat did fabulous - even when we turned to take the waves on the beam to see how she did. I was freaked out a bit, but Greg, Aven, and Aurelia handled it very well!
Underway from Shilshole Marina in Seattle.
For the first night on our way to BC, we were anchored in Similk Bay. It was a very calm and nice night.
January 18: It was a foggy morning going through the Swinomish Channel.
Our second day turned out to be just as nice as the first. This is the entrance to Drayton Harbor near Blaine, WA.
Beautiful sunset in Drayton Harbor.
In the evening on January 18th, there was a fire in the Semiahmoo Marina. We later learned that one boat sank and another was damaged. Luckily, there were no injuries.
Sunrise on January 19 to start a beautiful day.
This was our track overnight while we were at anchor. No anchor alarm going off means a good night of sleep!
It got quite bumpy in the Strait of Georgia!
Made it to the Shelter Island Marina.
Aurelia being hauled out in the morning on January 20th.
Aurelia’s home for a couple weeks while fiberglass repairs are completed. Here are a few pictures that Diane sent to us of the work she completed. There sure was some water damage in there, good thing we decided to have it repaired!
Here’s a picture of the large area that Diane worked on. She did a great job!
On February 9 we went up to BC to get Aurelia. Greg and I took her from BC to Seattle over 2 days.
Heather (Greg’s sister) took us to BC. (Thanks, Heather!)
Beautiful view at Shelter Island Marina.
February 10: Cold morning leaving BC. It was 13 degrees (F) when we left the dock. There was even ice in the Fraser River!
We passed many large ships along the way, some of them were very close!
We went from Shelter Island Marina to Garrison Bay on San Juan Island the first day, and from there to Shilshole Marina the second day. Here are a couple pictures from our night in Garrison Bay.
It was a nice, calm day from Garrison Bay to Seattle.
March 1: We brought Aurelia home to the Bremerton Marina. It was a beautiful day. There was a sailboat event occurring just north of where we travelled - luckily we didn’t need to go where they were!
